How to maintain your forklift

The daily maintenance of forklift is a necessary process for the continuous use of forklift. The maintenance of forklift can be divided into four categories: daily maintenance, first level maintenance, second level maintenance and third level maintenance. Daily maintenance should be carried out every day. Generally, the first level maintenance should be carried out every 50 hours, the second level maintenance should be carried out every 200 hours, and the third level maintenance should be carried out every 600 hours. In this way, the service life of forklift can be extended.

Forklift maintenance:

In order to make the forklift work normally and reliably and give full play to its potential capacity, regular maintenance measures should be taken. Technical maintenance measures are generally as follows:

1. Daily maintenance, after each shift.

2. First level technical maintenance, after working for 100 hours, one shift is equivalent to two weeks.

3. Secondary technical maintenance, after 500 hours of work, one shift is equivalent to one quarter.

1Routine maintenance

1. Clean the dirt, dirt and dirt on the forklift truck. The key parts are: forklift and gantry slide, generator and starter, battery electrode fork post, water tank and air filter.

2. Check the fastening condition of each part, the key points are: fork support, tension screw of lifting chain, wheel screw, wheel fixing pin, brake and steering gear screw.

3. Check the reliability and flexibility of steering gear.

4. Check the leakage, focusing on: pipe joints, diesel tank, oil tank, brake pump, lifting cylinder, tilt cylinder, water tank, water pump, engine oil pan, torque converter, transmission, drive axle, main reducer, hydraulic steering gear and steering cylinder.

5. Inspection of tire pressure: the deficiency shall be added to the specified value to confirm that there is no air leakage. Check whether the ground and side of the tire is damaged and whether the wheel is deformed.

6. Inspection of brake fluid and water volume: check whether the brake fluid is within the scale range, and check whether air is mixed into the brake pipeline. When adding brake fluid, prevent dust and water from mixing. When adding water to the water tank, clean tap water should be used. If antifreeze is used, the same antifreeze should be added. When the water temperature is higher than 70 °C, do not open the water tank cover. When opening the cover, pad a piece of thin cloth and do not screw the water tank cover with gloves.

7. Inspection of engine oil quantity, hydraulic oil and electrolyte: first pull out the oil gauge, wipe the ruler head, then insert it, and then pull it out to check whether the oil level is between the two scale marks. The oil level in the working oil tank should be between two scale marks; too little oil; air will be mixed into the pipeline, and too much will overflow from the cover plate. The battery electrolyte should also be between the upper and lower scale lines. If it is insufficient, distilled water should be added to the top line.

8. Brake pedal, inching pedal, clutch pedal, hand brake inspection: step on each pedal to check whether there is abnormal sluggish or jamming. The force of hand brake handle should be less than 300N to confirm that the hand brake is safe and reliable.

9. Inspection of belt, horn, light, instrument, etc.: check whether the belt tightness meets the requirements, if there is no adjustment allowance or if there is crack, it must be replaced; the horn, light and instrument shall be normal and effective.

10. Drain the oil filter deposit.

2、 First level technical maintenance

According to the "routine maintenance" project, and add the following work.

1. Check cylinder pressure or vacuum.

2. Check and adjust the valve clearance.

3. Check the thermostat for proper operation.

4. Check whether the multi-channel reversing valve, lifting cylinder, tilting cylinder, steering cylinder and gear pump work normally.

5. Check whether the shift operation of the transmission is normal.

6. Check and adjust the clearance between brake pad and brake drum of hand and foot brake.

7. Change the oil in the oil pan, check whether the crankcase ventilation pipe is in good condition, and clean the oil filter and diesel filter element.

8. Check whether the generator and starting motor are installed firmly, whether the connector is clean and firm, and whether the carbon brush and commutator are worn.

9. Check the tightness of the fan belt.

10. Check whether the wheel is installed firmly, whether the tire pressure meets the requirements, and remove the impurities embedded in the tread.

11. When the parts are disassembled due to maintenance, the forklift road test shall be carried out after reassembly.

(1) The braking performance under different degrees shall be free from deviation and hunting. On steep slopes, the vehicle can stop reliably after the hand brake is tightened.

(2) Listen to the engine running under acceleration, deceleration, heavy load or no-load conditions for abnormal sound.

(3) After a section of road test mileage, the brake, transmission, front axle housing, gear pump should be checked for overheating.

(4) Whether the lifting speed of fork rack is normal and whether there is shaking.

12. Check whether the filter screen of diesel oil inlet is blocked and damaged, and clean or replace the filter screen.

3Secondary technical maintenance

In addition to the technical maintenance items, the following work shall be added:

1. Clean the oil tank, filter screen and pipeline, and check whether there is corrosion and cracking. After cleaning, do not wipe with fiber gauze and cloth.

2. Clean the torque converter and gearbox, check the wear of parts and replace with new oil.

3. Check the cardan shaft bearing by changing the direction.

4. Check the fastening condition of each part of the drive axle and whether there is oil leakage, and dredge the air hole. Disassembly and inspection of main reducer, differential, wheel reducer adjusting bearing shaft

Add or replace lubricating oil to the clearance.

5. Dismantle, inspect, adjust and lubricate the front and rear wheel hubs, and conduct the axle shaft transposition.

6. Clean the brake and adjust the clearance between the brake drum and the brake shoe friction plate.

7. Clean the steering gear and check the free rotation of the steering wheel.

8. Remove and clean the gear oil pump, and pay attention to the wear of the gear, housing and bearing.

9. Remove the multi way valve and check the clearance between the valve stem and the valve body. Do not disassemble the safety valve if necessary.

10. Check the steering knuckle for damage and cracks, fit the kingpin of the steering axle with the steering knuckle, and disassemble and inspect the joints of the longitudinal and horizontal tie rods and the steering arm
